What subjects are studied at the Faculty of Medicine?

We can find in the Curriculum the subjects studied during each year. The Curriculum is a document characteristic to each specialization, which can be viewed by accessing this link.

How to motivate absences?

Justification of absences registered by disciplines is made by the management of the faculty on the basis of the supporting documents and of the personal request registered in the Faculty secretariat. These documents must be submitted to the secretariat 10 (ten) working days after the moment the student in question has resumed the educational activity. The supporting documents which are not submitted to the secretariat during the previously mentioned period are not taken into account, and those absences are considered unjustified. In order to motivate medical absences totaling more than 14 consecutive days, the student needs to present a ticket out of hospital or a certificate signed by the head of the hospital department. The medical documents issued by institutions other than UMF Doctor’s Practice must be approved by the UMF Doctor’s Practice before being submitted to the Faculty secretariat. On the basis of the supporting documents, the Faculty secretariat will issue a certificate to justify the absences to the disciplines. Attention! A student has the right to recover up to 20% of the teaching practical activities of a discipline.

Absences that exceed 20% of the practical activities require the complete resumption of studies to the subject in question.

How to recuperate missed classes?

All absences made in labs and clinical rotations must be recovered. The recovery must be done during the teaching activities and not during the examination session or during the holidays. In order to recover an absence, the student may go either with another group doing that work there - if it is possible, with the agreement of the teacher - or during the recovery meetings organized by the disciplines. For clinical rotations, the absences’ recovery can also be done during the emergency service in the hospital, with the consent of the teacher. For the recovery meetings, the student must pay a tax of 9 lei / hour. The absences from courses cannot be recovered.

How many credits do I have to accumulate to validate the year?

The minimum number of credits required to validate the year is 45.

Who is my secretary of the year?

You can find out by accessing this link.

How do I schedule an appointment with the dean or the vice-deans?

You must fill out a standard form that you can find at the Faculty secretariat or at the Registrar’ office, and leave it at that office who will forward it to the secretariat.

Is it possible to ask for the equivalence of the courses from the ERASMUS mobility?

We can make the equivalence of subjects studied at a partner university in the ERASMUS student exchange, according to the regulations of our university, if the number of credits assigned by the partner university to that subject, the number of hours and the analytical program cover at least 70% of the total number of credits, hours and program of that subject in our faculty. It is possible that a certain subject is studied at the partner university in another discipline than in our faculty, but in this situation too, the subject will be recognized here. For example, in some universities, Pediatric Neurology is studied in Pediatrics – in our university it will be recognized in the complex field of Neurosciences.

It is important to know that, in order to validate the year, the student must acquire at least 45 credits in subjects studied during that year in our faculty, even if he/she has validated those subjects in our university or in a partner university.
