Doors Open Days
On the occasion of ”Iuliu Haţieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy’s Days

“Valeriu Bologa” Library has prepared on the 7th and 8th of December 2022 the following activities for you:

Presentation Session: MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute): Past, present and the future of Open Access publication

Q&A at the library

Training session held for the Romanian students, from 10:00 to 10:30 (Romanian language)

Training session held for the international students, from 11:00 to 11:30 (English language)

Venue: At the library situated on 38-66 , B. P. Haşdeu

Each presentation will last 25 minutes, followed by a Q & A session. During these presentations, the users will be introduced to the following topics: how to log in and use the key features of the user account (changing the password, extending the due date for a loan, book and seat reservation in the reading room etc), the e-resources the university has subscribed to, or signing up for a free user account on UpToDate and Enformation platforms, for remote access.

Award ceremony

Prizes will be offered to the most devoted library users.

In exchange for attending the activities from the 7th and 8th of December (Presentation Session: MDPI and Q&A at the library) you can claim one of these rewards:

  • The books returned on this day will be exempted from the penalty fees accumulated to that date. The books can be returned to the main establishment (8, V. Babeş) or to Haşdeu library branch, depending on where they were loaned from.
  • The possibility of borrowing up to 3 books for a period of 3 months (except for reference books)
  • Issuance of a duplicate for the library card is free of charge.

Step 1) Select the desired service from the main touch screen ( BORROW BOOKS (Check-out item), RENEW or RETURN (Check-in item) )
Step 2) Scan the barcode of your library card (Flip the card over for the infrared light to be able to detect and scan the barcode)
Step 3) Next, the books are to be placed in the space indicated by the SelfCheck machine
Step 4) When the transaction is completed, click on FINALIZARE (FINISH)
Step 5) If a printed receipt is needed, click on IMPRIMARE CHITANŢĂ  (PRINT RECEIPT). If not, click on FĂRĂ CHITANŢĂ. (NO PRINTED RECEIPT)
 
 
In order to keep track of the user's transactions, click CONT (ACCOUNT) on the touch screen and scan the barcode (As shown in Step 2). User is shown the number of the books he/she checked out, their reservations and costs (penalty fees accumulated for returning items past their due date).
From the main screen, a user can also change the language of display from standard setting (Romanian) to English or French (bottom of the screen, on the right).

Online Clearance Form

After the conclusion of academic studies, the clearance form issued by "Iuliu Haţieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca must also be signed by the Library staff, certifying that the student doesn't have any overdue books or other unpaid fines.

Please fill in the online clearance form with your full information and submit it to the following address (The documents must be sent in .DOC or .PDF format only).

 Should name changes occur during the years of study, please specify both versions.

Dear library users,

On May 19th 2020, our library resumes public access with the following services:

  • registration
  • loans and loan returns
  • partial access to our reading room seats (online scheduling required beforehand)

Library access will fully comply with the safety measures required (social distancing, disinfection).

Library items borrowed before the state of emergency and with a due date in March will be returned free of charge until May 29th 2020. Borrowed items may also be returned by courier (delivery expenditures covered by the library user) using the following address:

To the attention of the users who have a mobile access account on the EBSCO platform:

Due to EBSCOs change of policy regarding mobile access (based on username and password) to its databases, account passwords are only valid for one year.

In case you own a mobile access account on the EBSCO platform but it fails to connect, these are the steps you need to follow:

1. Access http://www.info-edu.ro/activare-cont-ebsco.php

2. Fill in the form at the bottom of the page. Attention! The User ID field must contain the same user chosen when you created the account.

3. Input a new password which needs to meet the following requirements:

- must have 6-20 characters, including special characters (such as #, @, &, *, %, !, ?, $)

- must not include words as ebsco, ehost, pa$$word, dynamed or admin

4. Do not forget to select, from the institution list, Iuliu Haţieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca
