Dear colleagues, dear students,
We are witnessing disturbing historical events, which inevitably are a source of concern and even fear. The state authorities assure us that there is no cause for worry about a possible threat to our country, the risk that the conflict in Ukraine will spread to our country is minimal. Therefore, we encourage you to be confident and optimistic, to carry out your activities as before.
The "Iuliu Haţieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca continues its activity in the usual way, the courses and scientific events taking place according to the established schedule.
We assure our students that, now, there is no cause for concern, but we remain vigilant and attentive to the international situation. We advise international students to keep in touch with the embassies of the states they come from and to inform themselves from reliable sources.
You are not alone; we assure you of our full support.
At the same time, the events of recent days now demonstrate, more than ever, that solidarity and unity are the basic principles of humanity.
Our university joins the mobilization to help the Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in our country. Together with our colleagues, we support local and county authorities and the civil society involved, making available the following resources, which will be used for the benefit of Ukrainian citizens:
• Accommodation places with provided meals, in the university hotels (50 rooms).
• Emergency medical and dental care, psychological counseling, medicines and sanitary materials.
We encourage the entire academic community to join civic initiatives aimed at supporting Ukrainian citizens. In this regard, the Romanian Government has launched a support platform: The platform "Ukraine - Together we help more" which can be accessed at this link: https://bit.ly/3tcOAwt.
Best regards,
Rector
